Curriculum Overview
Plumfield HOE uses Charlotte Mason’s Alveary, a research driven curriculum developed by the Charlotte Mason Institute.
As stated on their website, “Alveary is a complete and comprehensive curriculum and teacher training program for homeschools, co-ops, and schools. [Their] aim is to provide a robust and modern course of study that is both true to Charlotte Mason’s model of education and relevant for 21st-century students living in the United States and Canada.” We love the broad feast that this program establishes, along with the structure and support it gives to our teachers and parents. While the Alveary curriculum is used on hybrid days, families may choose to use whatever curriculum they prefer on home days. Our suggestions and services are offered as guidance and direction only, and should not be viewed as a checklist of requirements. We have full confidence that our parents will be able to create the right learning environment at home for their personal families needs. In the event you may feel that you need more support, Plumfield has services available to help. We are dedicated to helping parents create a cohesive education plan between our classes and their homes. To do this, we offer parents support in learning how to navigate and use this robust curriculum to create a personalized plan that will work for their family’s individual needs. To learn more about our home support actions you may look at the Home Support page.
